About Hiway
Raindance runs on Hiway - a content infrastructure platform built for creators, producers, and rights holders. Your wallet is where you view, manage, and access every film you have purchased or rented, all in one place.
What is Hiway?
The platform
Hiway is the technology that powers content distribution - a single control panel where creators and rights holders can:
- Store content in secure, owned libraries
- Share content privately or publicly using SmartLinks
- Monetise via rental or pay-per-view
- Track viewing and revenue in real time
- Get paid directly, with no intermediaries
Hiway is not a marketplace or a distributor. It is the technology platform behind the scenes. Your IP stays yours. Your data stays yours.
How your wallet works
- 01
Access your content
When you purchase or rent a film through Raindance, it is automatically added to your wallet. You can reach all of your content from any device, at any time.
- 02
SmartLinks
Content is delivered via SmartLinks - secure, shareable links that combine the film, its metadata, access permissions, and viewing rules into a single URL. They make sure you always have authorised access to what you own.
- 03
Collections
Your wallet can hold individual films or entire collections. Collections group related titles together, making it easy to discover and watch curated sets of films.
- 04
Rentals and purchases
Your wallet tracks both purchased films (yours to keep) and rentals (available for a limited time). Rental periods and expiry dates are shown clearly, so you always know when access ends.
